Altruistic thoughts on Schopenhauer's metaphysical will to life...
Who are you to be allowed to live while wise, valuable people have to die?
This is especially true since the will to live as long as possible is an irrational, incessant urge in every simple mammal. Admittedly, it springs from a universal creative force that is at work in everything, be it matter, plants, animals, or humans. For us mere mortals, however, this will is aimless, for it is not rational, but a purely egocentric impulse.
Only insightful humility can help you overcome this narcissistic will and thereby attain a noble, higher understanding of eternal life. Ultimately, as you know, at your death, body and soul separate. While your physical body decomposes to dust, your spiritual energy form continues to exist and transitions into a higher consciousness.
Did you know that many famous people don't have gravestones because they deliberately chose to have their bodies buried in mass graves or somewhere else?
Even Mozart, due to a lack of interest in his body, was buried at night in a mass grave in St. Marx Cemetery in Vienna. Therefore, he has no individual gravestone to mark his grave, as is customary for "ordinary" people. At Einstein's request, his body was cremated on the day of his death, and after a simple funeral service, his ashes were scattered in an unknown location.
So, hand on your (still) beating heart: Would you give your humble life for one of these important people? Think about it seriously: You are sacrificing the rest of your humble life for one of these valuable universal geniuses or artists and will live on in and with their famous name.
Consider the bleak alternative: in a hundred years at the latest, no one will even remember that you ever lived...

Altruistic thoughts on Schopenhauer's metaphysical will to live...
Who are you anyway, that you are allowed to live while intelligent, valuable people have to die?
This is especially true since the desire to live as long as possible is an irrational, incessant urge of every simple mammal. Admittedly, it springs from a universal creative force that works in everything, be it matter, plants, animals, or humans. For us mere mortals, however, this desire is aimless, for it is not reasonable, but a purely egocentric impulse.
Only reasonable humility can help you overcome this narcissistic desire and thereby achieve a noble, higher understanding of eternal life. After all, as you know, your body and soul separate when you die. While your physical body decays into dust, your spiritual energy form continues to exist and transitions into a higher consciousness.
Did you know that many famous people do not have gravestones because they deliberately had their dead bodies buried in mass graves or buried somewhere?
Even Mozart was buried in a mass grave at St. Marx Cemetery in Vienna at night due to a lack of interest in his corpse. Therefore, he does not have his own gravestone to mark his resting place, as is customary for “normal” people. At Einstein's request, his body was cremated on the day of his death and, after a simple funeral service, his ashes were scattered in an unknown location.
So, place your hand on your heart, which is (still) beating in your chest: would you give up your modest life for one of these important people? Think about it seriously: you sacrifice your modest remaining life for one of these valuable universal geniuses or artists and live on under a famous name in and with them.
Consider the miserable alternative that in a hundred years at the latest, no one will remember that you ever lived..
